The burden of originality is one that most people don't want to accept. They'd rather sit in front of the TV and let that tell them what they're supposed to like, what they're supposed to buy, and what they're supposed to laugh at.
Upstate was one of the founding members of The Forsaken, you might say he was the catalyst for the formation of the clan. Upstate currently competes in USA Northeast and Unsanctioned and has amassed a combined 18 Titles.
Galactic was the true beginning of The Forsaken Clan, the first member and the clan Founder. Galactic competes in Canada, Bare Knuckles, and Amateur. Galactic holds 12 Regional Titles and has several fighters in Contenders.

The Forsaken are proud to welcome two new members to our growing clan. Detroit To Phoenix and Break The Mold were both recently welcomed into The Forsaken. Good to have you both aboard!
The Clan Wars are coming up and The Forsaken has decided to enter. Competition will be stiff with all the big names in WEBL coming out for this tournament: SoS, IWYN, Judgment Inc., Evil Empire, The Brotherhood, and Knights of Pugilism. The tournament will take place in sixteen divisions with each Forsaken Manager entering multiple fighters. Representing The Forsaken will be Galactic, Upstate, Ready To Bang, Break The Mold, and Evolve.

NEWS Latest Forsaken News 4-Eyes Muftak, managed by Galactic, picked up his manager's 15th Regional Title with a Round 1 Knockout of Robin Waysmith from the Wilkie Inc. <> gym. The win improved galactic's head to head record against Wilkie, one of the best managers in the game, to 6-2-0.
NEWS FLASH The Forsaken Tournament
The 1st ever tournament hosted by The Forsaken kicked off earlier this week. The twist on this tournament was that the fight plan was prepared for you, the competitors had to make their fighters around the plan. As we enter the fourth, and final, round of the tournament here are the results from the event thus far.

COMMENTARY Ready To Bang, Chess Success Ready To Bang broke into the Top 10 in Chess Rankings for USA South coming in at #7. He also acquired his Sixth USA South Title earlier in the week when his Super Featherweight Robert "ThaFreak" Saladin defeated Karla Spice, from the (Malibu ~KoP~), Gym by 10th Round Knockout. To top all of that off, he actually changed his Gym Tag!

COMMENTARY Enslaved By The Television
The media is the biggest influence on most of us, greater than both peer pressure and parental controls. How many parents sit their children in front of the TV in their most formative years just to keep them from being a 'nuisance'? It thoroughly informs all of us with specific cultural mores that are stoic, commercialist, short-term, thrill-seeking, unintelligent and moronic. Much academic research is now devoted to finding out how people read the popular press. One view, that of Theodor Adorno and the Frankfurt school, is that the popular media exist to dull people's minds and get them to accept the work and consumption patterns that are needed to sustain capitalism. In previous centuries, the Church was the great controller, dictating morality, stifling free expression and posing as conservator of all great art and music. Today we have television dictating fashions, thoughts, techniques but doing it so palatably that no one notices. Instead of "sins" to keep people in line, we have fear of being judged unacceptable by our peers (by not wearing the right running shoes, not drinking the right kind of beer or wearing the wrong kind of deodorant), and fear of imposed insecurity concerning our own identities. Borrowing the Christian sole salvation concept, television tells people that only through exposure to TV can the sins of alienation and ostracism be absolved.

WEBL NEWS Sardonic's Role Play Tournament
All fighters involved are prize fighters on a short-term contract with a traveling carnival. Each week will be a different stop on the carnival tour, and will lead to a different reason for each stipulation. Different occurrences will happen at each card, which may be included in the roleplaying -- and may also be completely disregarded. Though the fights will be held on a private region sim, I'll be displaying the results and 'storyline' in webpage form for anyone who cares to see it. This will open up the use of the Roleplay forum for your fighters, allowing those not involved to see exactly what is going on -- and follow along if they care to. The point being -- though the actual fights will be in a private region, the results will be very public... as well as the publicity. The main goal of this is for a swift kick in the ass to the roleplay forum, and to get some quality stuff rolling in here. To enter:
1) Join the Private Region with 'roleplay' being both the username and password for the private region.
2) Create a fighter, post a press release, and retire the fighter.
3) Email me an _exact_ copy of the fighter that you built at JimSardonic@gmail.com
If all 3 steps aren't completed, the fighter will not be registered.
If you like, you can drop a note here as well -- as fighters begin to roll in, they will be added to the roster. If your fighter has not been added to the roster, there is something wrong -- and it needs to be rectified if you are to be involved. Remember, this is a _roleplay_ tournament. Failure to roleplay will make you susceptible to being voted off by the other managers. Entries will be accepted until August 7th, 2007 at 12:00am Webl time. (Midnight between Monday and Tuesday). Everyone is welcome to join -- remember to pick a name and character that you can roleplay for.

RESULT Bandana Reclaims Ammy Title! Dirty Jelly Bean Bandana, fighting for Lucifer's Sacrifice, recaptured the Amateur Strawweight Title with a 4 Round Unanimous Decision Victory over two time champion Tshingis-khaan, managed by Reinhard. Judges at Ringside scored the bout 19-16, 20-16, 21-16. A rematch between the two fighters has been scheduled for next week.

NEWS FLASH Jazzy Max Rebo Announces Comeback Galactic's House of Midgets has announced the return of 'Jazzy' Max Rebo to Contenders competition. Rebo started out his career with seventeen consecutive wins and was sitting in Contenders at 27/27, 17-0-0. The climb to 28/28 was difficult but was eventually attained by Rebo. Narrowly missing a World Title Shot 'Jazzy' took some time off but now has returned to claim the World Title that he narrowly missed in his first climb through the ranks. We all wish Max Rebo luck in his campaign for a World Title.
Evolve's Professional Experiment claimed the Featherweight Professional Title, the first Professional Title for Lucifer's Sacrifice. Experiment defeated Big Bomba, managed by the Brooklyn House of Pain, by unanimous decision. Judges at ringside scored the bout 115-113, 115-113, 115-113.

The Forsaken Web Site was designed, and is maintained, by Lucifer's Sacrifice (Evolve). Other clans who do not currently have a web site, or would like assistance in updating their current ones, can contact Evolve for help in design or maintenance.
In the interest of helping out new players the members of The Forsaken are making a few select fight plans available for general use. These plans are not guaranteed to always win, no fight plan can do that, but it is a good way to learn how fight plans are constructed.
Early on, a fighter build is generally more important than the FP because the build has a greater impact overall on the matchup. As status increases, tactics begin to play a much stronger role.
